Two great reasons to pop Proflavanol® C100 this winter!

Let’s talk about winter – I never used to like winter. Don’t get me wrong, as a 24-year old who likes the outdoors,  I enjoy the cold, crisp air on my face and mum’s hot chicken soup (here’s to living at home!) Then there’s those roast dinners, hot chocolate (which makes everything seem right in the world!). Plus the odd treat – a deliciously warming dessert! But, the winter weather means it is more difficult to stay as active. And, for me, the worst part of winter are the colds that seem to be lurking in every corner! They seem to hit me every year without fail – knocking me off my feet for a few days.

Winter is in full swing now, here in the southern hemisphere. And don’t we know it – with all those winter mornings welcoming us to every new chilly day! Winter is such an exciting time with major sporting games, bon fires and marshmallows with friends, Christmas in July with family and friends and ice skating in the city. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have time (neither do I want to be) slowed down by the common cold that seems to be around at this time.

If you have ever gone skiing or snow-boarding, you know how cold the wind is and how bright the sun is when it reflects off the snow. Have you ever got goggle burn? Where you come back from the snow looking like a racoon? I did once and trust me, that was one time too many – I could have done without all the laughs I got from friends! But on a serious note, imagine the damage that the sun would have done to my skin on that day!  Up to 80 per cent of the sun’s rays are reflected off the snow, which is not good news for your skin.

So what do I do when I encounter these two winter problems?

Proflavanol® C100 – great for anytime of the year (I take it year round) but one of my favourite products especially for winter.

Now I know what you are thinking… This guy works for the Company and of course he has to speak highly of the products. But I have definitely noticed a huge difference when using this product, both as a cold-defence product and to soothe winter skin. By the way, so has my chicken-soup-cooking Mum!

Let me take you back to high school science (without the glasses and lab coats). One of the ingredients in Proflavanol C100 is grape seed extract which provides oligomeric proanthocyanidins (try saying that fast!) or as I prefer to call them OPCs. OPCs are the most powerful and natural free radical scavengers known (basically the good guys in your body!). The other ingredient in Proflavanol C100 is Vitamin C, which supports healthy immune function. OPCs help to boost the level of the vitamin C. So Proflavanol C100 can help relieve symptoms of colds*. I don’t know about you, but I don’t like having taking over-the-counter medicines for colds. Just quietly and between you and me, this season (so far), I haven’t had a cold!

Now back to skiing and snow-boarding…
The skin ages when the sun triggers sun burn and free radical production (the bad guys in your body that can trigger ageing) and reduces the skin’s small reserves of vitamin C. Getting enough vitamin C and OPCs can help boost the skin’s ability against oxidative damage by UV light.  Proflavanol C100 is rich in vitamin C and OPCs, which will help support healthy skin appearance.  As a side note, did you know that USANA’s Sensé™ Daytime Protective Emulsion contains the Proflavanol-T TM – a topical-flavonoid complex for beautiful skin? Rich in OPCs from grape seed extract and other vital nutrients, it can help on the outside while Proflavanol C100 works from the inside!

So if you are like me and want to make the most out of every season, don’t forget to pop Proflavanol C100 this winter!

Now get out and enjoy all the things that winter brings!
