8 Active Date Ideas

Got plans for Valentine’s Day? Instead of doing the usual Netflix and chill, how ‘bout spicing it up a bit with an action packed date? I’ve compiled a list of the BEST active date ideas to keep you fit and healthy, all while having an all-round great time.

  1. Fitness class. Break a sweat together! Get ready for those exercise-induced endorphins with your sweetheart… or should we say sweatheart.
  2. Rock climbing. What’s more romantic than putting your life in the hands of your loved one? Build trust, show your support and maybe even start a new hobby together!
  3. tango-108483_960_720Dancing. Get up close and personal and learn a new dance together. Try out sensual Salsa or even a Zumba class! If you still leave a terrible dancer, at least there was been plenty of laughter.
  4. Ice-skating.  Pretty much strapping blades to your feet and running around on a slippery surface can only go well, right? But seriously, there is no better excuse to hold hands with your date… and potentially drag them down with you.
  5. Romantic walk or even hiking. Take the chance to go on a romantic walk around New Zealand’s beautiful beaches, or even a hiking trail if you’re a bit more adventurous!
  6. Trampolining. So um, do you want to act like a kid again for a few hours? This is your chance. There are a couple trampoline parks around Auckland, such as Jump.
  7. Paddle-boarding. Paddle off into the distance. You can show off your fitness, it’s unconventional and you can have a laugh (or they can).
