Steve Hooker – Achieving Greatness

USANA Sponsored athlete – Steve Hooker is going from strength to strength and says he is yet to reach his peak. Steve has had a massive year in terms of attending competitions and is currently on a well deserved break taking time out to reflect on the year he just had. “I found 2010 a very different year, with my major goals (World Indoors and Commonwealth Games) at either end of the inaugural Diamond League season (Steve is also Diamond League Ambassador). It was a year to which I had a lower-key approach, and that was probably reflected in some of my results’.

“As a whole, though, I think it will make me approach 2011 and 2012 with still more intensity and a desire to get good results” simultaneously keeping a close eye on his rivals to give him the motivation to succeed. This superstar has really ‘Gone for Gold’ in 2010 with Gold medal wins in 3 major events – World Indoor Championships, IAAF World Championships and Commonwealth Games. He has set his sights now on winning Gold at the World Championships in 2011 and Olympics in 2012.

The World Champion in Pole Vaulting has also recently added two award nominations to his growing list of achievements. Steve was nominated for 2010 IAAF World Athlete of the Year and Sports Performer Award (Australia). USANA staff and Associates have been voting for Steve daily to win the Sports Performer Award.
