It’s something many of us stive for. Whether it’s for your work or personal life, things are so much easier. I think the secret to becoming a more organised person is to keep things simple and create good habits. Here are five good habits to take on in 2017 to become more organised.
Write everything down.
Don’t rely on your memory. Keep track of your to-do list. Write down your goals so you can look back at them. Pretty much, if you don’t want to forget it, write it. A planner is a great way to… well… plan ahead and know what you need to do each day.
Get more done before breakfast.
Try waking up a little earlier and get more done in your day! Things get done in the morning because it’s the time that you control. Check out The One Thing Podcaststo learn how to dominate your day before breakfast.
Practice Mise En Place
This is a French culinary phrase meaning ‘putting in place’. Stay organised by having a place for all your belongings and putting them back in their home. This makes finding things quick and easy!
Back-up your photos
Okay, so I’ll be the first to admit that I can’t be bothered backing up everything on every device. However, it really pays to back up photos and important things to you. Photos are irreplaceable and it just takes one accident to lose everything on your phone, computer or where ever you keep them.
Clean up regularly
Spend a small amount of time cleaning often. It is much better than allowing your space to get cluttered and messy, then having to spend hours trying to get it back to its original state.
An important thing to remember is that it’s not the motivation that keeps you in these organised ways, it’s the habit! Start off the year with the right habits, and become the kind of person you want to be in 2017!
